Fat, bald, and blemished is not the worst thing a person can be. It’s far worse to have ugly takes.
Did you consider that my existence does not revolve around being attractive to everyone? Did you consider that my self-acceptance does not have to be dependent on my appearance? Did you consider that billions of people are fat, bald, or have acne regardless of being cis or trans and that they don’t deserve to be shamed?

i am personally of the belief that body shaming men is bad even if they’re not marginalized in some way. like sometimes i see posts that are like “dont forget! by shaming bald people you’re also shaming some trans women, transmascs, etc!” and like. maybe body shaming is just bad.
old trans men make me so emotional, especially with how high suicide rates are amongst transmascs. seeing a trans man with wrinkles and grey hair or balding is so wonderful because it shows that it’s possible for us to live long lives. that our future isn’t either death or it being a “phase”. there’s a 50~ (I think) year old trans man on TikTok who’s making videos about getting on T for the first time and I love it. it’s not a phase. it’s not a death sentence. it’s not a tragedy. our lives are rich and valuable and add so much to our communities.

I think it’s really fucking bold of people to give trans men and mascs shade for expecting their transition to look a certain way or like “an anime boy” when baldness, fatness and short height are literally the most common insecurities of cis men and a lot of them go through ridiculous levels to hide or change them

i wonder why young impressionable trans ppl who want to go on t would be afraid of being hairy and bald and fat. i wonder if it’s maybe bc they’ve watched the queer community treat fat queer people in general, but particularly fat queer ppl who are hairy, bald, and/or not feminine, like absolute fucking shit. i wonder if it’s bc our society assigns morality to looks and fat hairy bald ppl get literally treated like predators simply because of the way they look. i wonder if it’s because they watched the rest of the queer community idolize and prioritize white thinness. i wonder if maybe, just maybe, there are deeply seated issues in the queer community that we might wanna address when they make themselves obvious instead of falling back on mocking individuals for the way they look.
